Groundbreaking Ceremony for Ka Lima O Maui’s New Home

Ka Lima O Maui held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new home on August 6th, 2020. The location is behind the J Walter Cameron Center by the current Medicaid Waiver Service Building in the old Plant Nursery site. After 65 years of serving the Maui’s community, Ka Lima O Maui broke ground to construct its new home. The new $3,500,000 facility will allow the organization to consolidate all of its operations on one site, a 2-acre lot leased from the County of Maui. The new space will also allow Ka Lima O Maui to expand its vocational services for persons with disabilities. Ka Lima has raised 93% of the funds required and is expected to start construction this August. The total project should be completed in 14 months.
Ka Lima O Maui has been “Enhancing Lives through Self-Reliance” since 1955 by providing a variety of different services such as Grounds and Custodial Services, Internship and Job Placement Programs and the Medicaid Waiver Program.
